The Awareness Committee strives to reduce stigma associated with food insecurity through meaningful campaigns on campus and in the broader community. Among many projects, the Committee is responsible for the Hunger Awareness Board campaign. The Hunger Awareness Board is a board left at various places on campus where students can write down what they hunger for. The Committee also created an informational display (picture below), which was presented on the construction wall in SUB in March 2015. At the end of this semester, one member of the Committee blogged about her experience of living on a hamper for one week. The goal of this project was to learn how to use the items in the hamper creatively and pass this knowledge on to clients via our webpage. You can access the blog here. The Awareness Committee is also responsible for our social media campaigns such as Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday.
