The purpose of Internal Events is building community between the Campus Food Bank volunteers. These events are meant to be a relaxing opportunity for volunteers to meet people who they may not encounter on their weekly shifts. The events are always on campus and free of cost to our volunteers. The Internal committee also tries to ensure that there is food, refreshments, and some sort of entertainment activity involved at each event. The number of attendees at our events usually ranges from 20 to 40 people. This year, the Internal Committee tried some new event ideas, such as the pumpkin carving contest in October. The biggest event of the year is our Volunteer Appreciation Party held in April to thank the volunteers for all their hard work throughout the year. The night consists of programming, prizes, food for volunteers and the presentation of the Volunteer of the Year Award. This year’s event had over 80 attendees!
