Volunteers are the heart and soul of our programs.

General volunteer applications are now open for the 2026 Spring and Summer terms! If you are interested in volunteering with us, fill out this form! Applications will close once we have filled all of our positions, so apply early! Please note that recruitment is competitive and we often receive more applications than we have spots for. We encourage interested individuals to reapply if they do not get a position the first time.

Get Involved

Office volunteers are responsible for the success of the supplementary grocery program. They spend two hours at the Campus Food Bank per week on a set shift.

Program Volunteers

Program volunteers host our grocery bus program, run our breakfast program, check in our pantry and coordinate WECAN food basket pickups throughout the year. Hour commitment varies based on the program you are volunteering with.

Driver Volunteers

Drivers support our various pickups around the city to collect food donations. Some positions require a vehicle and others require the ability to drive the CFB van. Clean abstracts are required with this role.

Garden Volunteers

Garden volunteers help support the CFB grow fresh food for our clients. This position is run through the spring/summer months and requires 2-4 hours per week on Tuesdays or Thursday evenings.

Trick or TrEAT Volunteers

Trick or TrEAT volunteers support our annual Trick or TrEAT food drive in October. This position will open during the fall semester and volunteering will be in late October.


Successful volunteer applicants are committed to the Campus Food Bank's mission to eliminate hunger on campus and must attend all interviews and the mandatory training sessions. Preference will be given to current students at the University of Alberta.
