Please Note: There are two separate donation links on this page. The first (top one) is for regular donations to the Campus Food Bank. The second is for Food for Fines, which is a program run in partnership with the UofA Libraries. Please select the link that applies to your donation, or contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Thank you!
While all donations are valued, monetary donations are highly encouraged since they allow us flexibility to purchase what is most needed at a certain time. Monetary donations can be dropped off during office hours or mailed. If you are donating by cheque, please write it to “Campus Food Bank.”
Tax Receipts can be issued for a minimum donation of $20. Every donation helps our mission to fight hunger on the University of Alberta campus.
If you prefer to use a credit card to donate, please do so by visiting CanadaHelps.org or by clicking the button below.
While all food and toiletry donations are very appreciated, the most needed non-perishable items are:
To arrange the donation of perishable food items, please call (780) 492-8677 and ask to speak to the Executive Director. Feel free to plant an extra row in your garden for us this season, as we do accept fresh produce.
Note: For safety reasons, we cannot redistribute homemade products or open food products.
We also greatly appreciate donations of reusable bags.
Request donations to the Campus Food Bank from your attendees! We can supply donation boxes and secure monetary jars for events with some notice. Email email@example.com to coordinate.
For your library fines to be waived, you must include the 13-digit barcode from your ONECard/library card in the donation form (click the red button below) By submitting that form, you give the Campus Food Bank permission to share your name, barcode, email address, and donation amount with the UA Libraries. If you cannot locate your 13-digit barcode, please contact the U of A Libraries at 780-492-4174 before submitting this form.
For every dollar donated to the Campus Food Bank, you will be waived the same amount in overdue library fines, to a maximum of $100. Only current fines on UofA books and books from participating NEOS Libraries will be waived. Fines on MacEwan and Olds College books are not eligible. Charges for lost or damaged items are not eligible.
Fines will be waived in 7-10 business days after you make your donation.
If you would rather donate non-perishable food items, those can be dropped off at any Main Campus or Campus Saint-Jean Library.
Food for Fines runs from March 5th to April 30th
