Campus Kitchen classes are held in Nipisiy House from 6:00-8:00pm
Sign ups open one month before each class. Recipes vary each evening, but will accommodate most dietary restrictions. Bring a container to take home leftovers
Session Dates for Winter 2020:
Participants in our Campus Kitchens work through simple, tasty recipes with the help of food bank volunteers. These sessions are a chance to socialize, improve on cooking skills and learn some new recipes! At the end of each event, everyone sits down together to eat the meals that we prepare. We cover a variety of skills and recipes, with a focus on low-cost ingredients and recipes that students can easily replicate at home.
Campus Kitchens are first come first serve, with new participants will be given priority over returning sign ups. This way more people get a chance to participate in the cooking community that we are building. Returners are still welcome to sign up though, and we appreciate your flexibility with this new programming! Space is limited, so we do have a wait list for classes. Make sure that you receive a confirmation email from our team before coming to a class.
This program is part of the Campus Food Bank's suite of food support programming, designed to combat food insecurity in a variety of ways. Our organization has provided food hampers to the campus community for over 25 years, so extending our food education and access capabilities was a natural next step for us.
